Default Air conditioning Problem

Hi,

I have a 01 Sequoia Limited with about 58k on it. I noticed the Air conditioning light flashing. When I pressed it I smelled something bad coming through the vents and no cool air. I stopped it immediately and looked at the engine area but could not see anything obvious. When off the truck runs fine with no problems.

Has anyone had any problems with AC like this? What does the flashing AC mean?

This might be more than a job I can handle due to coolant in the AC, but I would like to be somewhat educated when I call my mechanic.

Is there a good shop manual for the Sequoia? I have not been able to find one.

Thanks!

Welcome to the, "Sequioa AC sucks, gonna cost me $2k club". There are a few threads on this, just recently I posted to the 'Seized AC compressor" thread, check it out. I don't think you will like what you find, it is some $$$$$. Maybe you'll get lucky and Toyota will help you out, but don't count on it. /Mike
