1Gen-SequoiaGeneral discussion forum for the first generation 2001 to 2007 Toyota Sequoia.
This is a discussion thread titled "Passenger side rear (BACK) window", within the 1Gen-Sequoia forum, part of the SUV Forums category.
Does anybody know what is in the passenger side far back window? It looks like a defroster element but why only on the right side? It looks just like the rear window defroster element.

It is probably a defroster. Since the driver can only see out that window and not the drivers side one, maybe they only put it in that window. Just a guess. I've seen the same thing in other SUV's but never noticed if they had it in both windows or not.

The diagrams I have only show a heated glass element in the rear window. But my diagrams are for a 2001.

Not a defroster. Or if it is, mine doesn't work I was advised that it is an antenna for the AM radio (or a booster for it). AM reception is awesome in my Sequoia so I tend to agree with this. Too bad they didn't do the same with the other window for FM and get rid of the antenna all together.
