has anyone had a problem with the gas gauge freaking out on a 2002 Sequoia? My gauge will show totally empty randomly, usually when it's cold, but not always. The miles til empty will not change, so that is how I dertermine how much gas I actually have. It will eventually start working again, and it doesn't do it very often, definitely not enough to actually get it to the dealer while it is doing it.
Now I have had another problem surface and I am wondering if they might be connected. I was driving my dad about 40 miles to pick up his new 2005 Avalon in a pretty big rain storm. About half the way there, I noticed that my rear wiper stopped working. Then I noticed the rear windows and the tailgate window didn't work, either. As my dad was doing paperwork to buy car, I took it in and had them look at it. They checked the fuses, they were all fine, plus windows and wipers on different fuse. Then they tried them again, and it all worked! I left the service bay, and tried them again, did not work. Then I realized with the driver door open, everything worked, with it closed they did not work. When they had checked it, the driver door was open. I did not have time to leave it, and dealership is like 40 miles away from where I live. Next day, all working fine again. It now seems to happen only when it is raining and I have to drive the truck a pretty good way in the rain for it to be a problem. Does this sound like water getting into the wiring harness somewhere, and does anyone think it might be the tied to the gas gauge issue? I am perplexed. I am going to sell this truck in the next 6 months, would like to not pass this along to new owner.
I have a similar problem as yours.
My 2004 Sequoia blows gauge fuse, generally when I leave it outdoor overnight and the front and back windows are foggy and the truck is cold( first start in the morning).
The fuse blows right when I engage the gear.
WOndering if you found any solution to it?

I never had a problem with my gas gauge but when I first got my Sequoia I had a problem with my rear window not staying up. When ever I hit the auto up button the rear window would go all the way up and close then it would open rite back up again about an inch and a half. I could not figure out why for the life of me. The only way I could get it to close all the way was to tease the window button until the window just starts to close then you stop. If I went to far the window would come rite back down an inch and a half and just stay there!!! So, I took it to the dealer and after like 3 guys looked at and could not figure it out one guy walked over and said, "There's a TSB on this!" I am not one hundred percent sure if I remember it all exactly or word for word but this is pretty much what I got out of what he said. It had something to do with when the truck is shipped and/or when the battery is disconnected for extended periods of time. You need to reset the window computer brain, With the window in the up position "HOLD" the down button down wile the window goes all the way down and when it gets down don't let go! Hold it down another (I forget how long) I think for like another 15 to 20 seconds and then push the button up side of the button and hold it, And once the window is up do the same thing don't take your figure off the button and hold it pushed for like another 15 to 20 seconds and then let go. That reset my rear window computer, It has worked GREAT ever since. Johnnnnny

I just purchased a 2002 Sequoia Limited last week. It has 73000 miles. Today we noticed the gas gauge shows below empty and it has almost a full tank of gas in it. I don't have a warranty on the vehicle and wondered if anyone knows what will need to be done to fix this and how much it should cost.
