Default How to kill your 2001 sequioa

First ensure all occupants are buckled.
Next find a 1991 ford exploder doing about 45 mph.
Then prepare for left hand turn going up hill.
Ensure driver in ford behind you is distracted yelling at kids while talking on phone.
You can figure what happened next.

ford impacts driver side door at a 45 degree angle doing about 40 MPH. Pushing said Sequioa up the hill about 3 feet. Sequoia door not functional after accident.

Driver (me) sore, but walks away. Truck not so lucky. Towed to shop to see if junk, or fixable (probably fixable).

Ford driver said on accident report... Sequioa did not have blinker on, so I tried to pass on left against double line as I thought he was making a right hand turn.

now I drive rental POS sunfire for a bit. oh joy of joys....

That sucks. But at least you walked away. Gotta love how people try to justify their own stupid mistakes(Ford driver) by blaming other people(you). My wife back in college had a similar experience, she was driving a POS Datsun with blinker on turning left. Some d!ck in a civic assumed she was turning right, tried to pass on left and clipped her car. Guess what, she paid for his damage and he paid for hers. I never understood how the insurance co. came to that conclusion. I really hope the best for you, but wouldn't be surprised if they put some blame on you. Good luck! /Mike

I am an insurance adjuster. I've heard everything from he was parked illegally so I can justify slamming into his car. His door was open over my space when I was pulling through, and that was MY space. Sometimes, I put the phone on mute and scream!!!

The key thing is you are ok. You do have a BI claim against the Exploders insurance carrier however.

Yep, was sore, but now I'm ok. feel I let my truck down, but as they say it's a machine, and can be replaced.. but people can't.

Either way it sucks, was all paid for and if they total it, I'll get half the cost of a new one. I have pics, but don't know how to post them.. oh well.

Maybe it's time for an 05.

I should clarify to be honest, she didn't say she tried to pass against the double yellow. When she was talking to the police, she said she was trying to "get around" me on the left, when I turned into her path. The pictures clearly show a double yellow line, me in the middle of the road, and her wrecked ford in the oncoming lane.

Still pretty ticked about the thing considering I could have been seriously hurt except for the well built Seq.

Does TS have any rules to linking to other sites? I could put up some pics.
