Default DVD Player in 05 Sequioa

I have an 05 Limited with DVD & NAV, and i was wondering if you can play DVD-Rs in them the manual say they may not work and it don't work when i try it but i did a search, and guys with 03 sequoias said it works for them, was there a change since 03 or am i not doing something wrong. I have tried DVD+Rs and -Rs, and the discs work in all of my players in my house just not the Sequioa.

I have had success on my '05 factory unit with DVD-R's I have created. All of mine so far have been on Ritek manufactured DVD's (say "Ridata" next to hole). I'm guessing you know that it's a true DVD format, not something else that your home DVD players support. I have read that some DVD's are better than others for certain players -- you might experiment with different manufacturers.
