TundraDave, I've tried many different tires over the years, and although the Revo is not one of them, I've gotta say in my experience, the Yokohama Geolanders were the "best bang for the buck". Do a side-by-side comparison on tirerack and you can see they rate highly, and always performed well for me. On top of the good performance and decent price, the tires still looked almost new after 30K!!! The last set I bought for my Taco DC the installer said that he's seen them often last much longer than what they are advertised to (I sold my truck when they had ~30K, so not sure how they are still holding up). He went on to say they probably last longer than they really should as they look good after so many miles that ppl don't consider replacing them, despite the age will eventually affect the performance of the tire. His shop didn't sell Yokohamas -- I bought them off of tirerack and shipped to his store for mounting, but he said they were better tires than anything he had in stock. Anyway, my $.02 -- when my Tundra eventually needs new shoes, it's probably going to get a set of these.
I would think that Dave got his new tires by now because that post is all most two years old but I would like to know what tires he did go with. phanham you are talking about an A/T tire correct? The Yokohama Geolanders A/T's?? I have never had a Yokohama tire on any of my cares or trucks yet. I have never herd anything bad about them but what you are saying does scare me a little. If it is an A/T tire and they still look new after putting more then 30,000 miles on them that does make me wonder why they are not wearing down? The rubber compound that the tire is made out of might be a little to hard and if that's the case then they might not stick all that well. I always look at it like this, The faster the tire wears the better the tire is or the safer the tire is. The harder the tires are the longer it lasts but it does not stick and grip as well as a softer tire does. Due to my driving habits and my tire choice I personally don't get much more then 20 or 25 thousand miles out of a set of tires but during that time my tires perform VERY well. So, I think that the best tires are tires with the softest compound and that lasts a long time. So far the closest thing to this that I found is the Revo A/T's. The only other tire that I have found that performed better then the Revo's where a set of Micky Tompson's but I didn't even make 15,000 miles with a set of those. But boy did they perform!! Just my Opinion, Johnnnnny

I have a new 2008 Tundera SR5 4WD that came with Michelin P255/70R18 which don't look like they'd be good in winter. My last truck, a 2000 GMC Sierra wore Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revos, and I loved their traction, ride and wearability. Obviously, I was not disappointed with them. Unfortunately, they don't come in the OEM size for my new Tundra, and since it has a tire pressure monitor, I probably have to stick to the exact original size. The closest I could find to the Revo was the Firestone Destination A/T. Anyone have any experience with those? My driving is mixed rural roads and logging roads to manage woodlands that I own. I do very little Interstate-type highway driving.
Any insights appreciated. Thanks.
I've put about 30k miles on my revo's and they will still take me through the winter fine. I'm not an easy driver at all either. I wonder why some people are getting different wear.
Ive got 43,000 miloes on my Destination AT's and will probably get at least 50,000 miles. I have been real happy with them - quiet, great traction in snow. And I believe I got them for $550.
Wow, I can't believe people are having problems with their Revos!
I put these on my 2003 Seq 4x4 3 years and 50K miles ago and they've been flawless. I will probably have to replace them next year and wouldn't mind going back with another set. These also saw some pretty heavy towing duty as well.
Good Luck!

Now, I don't know what to do. I was hoping for at least 40,000 (rated for 50,000). That is a lot of money to replace tires so soon. I tow a boat and trailer (total 2500lb) every other weekend.
My other vehicle (4Runner, which I know is lighter) had Michelin LTX M/S and lasted over 50,000 miles, but they didn't grip at all like the Revos. Now I am looking for some kind of compromise. I don't think it's too much to expect at least 35,000 to 40,000 miles out of these tires with proper rotation, but 28,000
I also had a terrible experience with the revo's, The traction was great, especially in the snow. However, I'm seeing a trend that most people (like myself) that got the p-rated tire had wear and noise issues. I replaced mine at about 30k on them and they were worn horribly. They also got so loud that I took my truck into the shop to see if my front bearings needed to be replaced. For some reason when I'd turn they got so loud and you could almost feel a vibration in the floor boards. I also rotated these tires every 5-6k.
Anyways, I have switch to Pirelli Scorpion ATR and what a huge difference. These tires still have an aggressive look, but they are whisper quiet. No more front end noise, its seriously like driving a new truck. I was speechless when I started driving away from the shop. Even my wife commented on how much quieter everything is. I haven't taken these through the snow yet, but wet traction is great and they certainly don't hydroplane like my revo's did.
Just my .02, but I was one of those guys that did not have a good experience.

I bought the Alenza's a few months ago. Quiet and a nice ride. Vibration was terrible. 4 or 5 balances, road force, rotation, new rims and still had the problem. They warranted them and gave me the Revo's. Smooth as silk. Definetly a little more road noise, but I expected that with the aggressive tread. I took the noise trade off for the winter traction. I would have still preferred the quietness of the Alenza, I guess I could have gone to the Firestone line but just do not like the looks of the tire. I imagine the noise will get worse with wear. I can't imagine that the Revo can hydroplane with the aggressive siping. As far as wear, the Alenza claims 65k and the Revo only 50k. That is a concern. The dealer said they rate the AT less because of abuse issues but basically the same compounds. He said he sees them regularly at 60k and feels they will actually last longer than the Alenza as the contact patch has more rubber.
Anyway, I am still skeptical but the ride has improved with NO vibration. I was very disappointed with the Alenza and the balance/tire quality. I wish I would have gone for the Triple Tread now that I have the Revo. I am sure those are not quiet either. We only drive about 7k miles per year so wear is not that big of a concern as I doubt I will have this truck in 6-7 more years. If we do, I would think that the rubber would be breaking down anyway and new tires always freshen a vehicle. For those that went through wear quickly I wonder in alignment or suspension could be an issue?
My neighbor has the Revo's on his Tacoma, granted a different application for the tire but complains about them everytime I ask him about them. And with all the other challenges these tires have had on the Sequoia's I went with the Cross-Terrains from Michilin. Zero issues so far, did the family vaca to Pikes Peak, and a 16 hour tow to Deals Gap, NC with a
26' enclosed trailer. Haven't had an opportunity to challenge them in the snow yet but its coming.
I live and work in Colorado, and have had the REVO's for about 9k, absolutely flawless - great in the snowy mountains and excellent grip in the rain (not that it rains a lot here). I also tow a 3500 lb trailer regularly on and off road, and they are very responsive with great grip when stopping. No showing of any abnormal wear, and sidewalls are very durable. I have put these through the ringer here in the Rockies. If the day comes to replace them - I get the exact same tires.

I posted on this thread years ago when I had my first set. They lasted 65K miles and probably could have gone a bit farther. However, winter was coming and I didn't want to face it on tires with low tread.
I now have the second set on and they are doing great...had them about a year still no problems.
When these go, I will probably go to a street tire vs ant A/T. I honestly don't do anything more serious than dirt roads and there are plenty of street tires that will do well in occasional snow.
I put a set of Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza's on my 01 back in May of 06. These are the best riding tires I have had. A little more money than the Revos but well worth it. Been to Destin, Fla from TN five times with them and still have plenty of tread. When these wear out will get another set.
Ok........I'm a Chevy driver. A Silverado for me and a Tahoe for the wife. Both of these vehicles came with the Bridgestone Dueler AT P265/70R17 (R16 Tahoe)113S M+S 693II's. (Whew! That's a mouthful!) I joined this forum because I was originally searching for a good price on Revos and came across this discussion and wanted to give my own view. These Dueler AT 693s are a piece of junk. All of my tires wore to unacceptable limits within 30,000 miles. I replace the Tahoes with Bridgestone Dueler AT REVOs P265/70R16s 111S 694 M+S. THESE TIRES HAVE 65,000 MILES ON THEM and do not need to be replace yet. Yes, I know my wife is driving the car...........I cannot believe the difference. I rotated the tires once. My Chevy truck is getting these as soon as a find the right price. I just hope they make them in a 17 inch rim. If you are not getting decent mileage out of these tires it may be time for an alignment. Maybe. I'm a retired pilot puke. Not a salesman or rep. Good luck!
My Revos are shot after only 40 000 KILOMETERS. I am very disappointed, they never handled snow or mud well at all, even when new. They are a little better than the horrid stockers, but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Getting a set of Goodyear Silent Armors before the snow flies here.

Got my Goodyears on Friday, which is lucky because I got called to work tonight. I just drove onto a site covered in sticky 10" deep mud ruts like they weren't there. If I'd had the Revos on, I'd still be out there doing random donuts or completely stuck. The Goodyears are quieter than the Revos on the highway too.
