Most dealer service is just ridiculous. I can't believe some of the stuff i've read on here that they get away with. Its borderline theft IMO. Truly sad. For example, my drive shift indicator went out on my truck. Basically its a tiny filament bulb that lights up green on the dash to show what gear your in. I read in another thread that people went to the dealer to get price quotes on fixing it. They were quoted anywhere from 100-150 dollars to replace an 8 dollar bulb (which is still outrageous!). I personally replaced it myself and it takes less than 10 minutes to get to that bulb and another 10 to put the dash back together.

Anyways...I have used the same RTV silicone on my corner signal lense since it was leaking in from the outside and I haven't had issues since. My headlight housings are aftermarket so they aren't made to OEM spec. So if the moisture was getting in around the seal on my fogs then I'm pretty sure this will fix it. If not, then its for sure coming in from where the bulb is twisted on the back of the housing. If its that, then i'll prob put some more silicone in that area so the bulb will sit with a tighter fit. We shall see next few car washes.

The crazy thing is several books state that the dealer needs to replace the bulbs because it isn't a do-it-yourself job. Now that I have replaced the whole units, I can't believe they would say that because it was so easy as your pictures show. It took 20 minutes.

I look forward to a sealant update.

thought i'd post again after i did my silicone bead work...well..it rained again recently and the moisture was back in the housing so that confirms that the silicone bead was quite useless and the moisture is coming in from where the actual bulb is mounted on. i will put a small amount of silicone in that area and that should do the trick..
