brake light on while driving
my brake light has been coming on from time to time.
its the red light that turns on when the hand brake is on.
it turns on quickly and turns off several time i think its sometimes when i brake.
and yes i checked the hand brake is off.
i do need to replace the pads and maybe the rotors but i dont think this is a sensor for that.
thanks in advance for any help

Brake fluid is affected by temperature, but in So. Cal that's probably not an issue, also as your pads wear the level in the reservior gets lower.

do you think the light was coming on b/c of the brake fluid level.
the light would come on when i tapped the brakes.

Between the fluid normally sloshing around in the reservoir and pressing on the brake pedal (fluid level goes down when that's done, comes back up when pedal's released) your light will come on. Shouldn't happen now that you've topped it off.
By the way there's a float switch inside the reservoir that turns that light on when the fluid's low.

If a combo of all these whizz bangs met their claims you'd have to siphon gas out of your tank every second day and sell the excess horsepower on the third????
If your engine doesn't consume ANY oil it will seize???

yeah..brake fluid in the past has caused the light to go on for a few members, including myself. so just keep an eye on it. next time you take it in for service just have them check everything out to be on the safe side.
