Hey, all!
I just recently bought a 2002 Sequoia. Nice rig, but it's got a few problems I missed during initial inspection. One I'm trying to fix now is that the lower clip / support for the passenger side running light is broken off, so the running light assembly is basically only support at the top. There's enough play that I'm worried it'll fatigue off once I get 'er out on the jeep trails during camping season. Anywho, since it looks like the support is part of the headlight assembly, I went and bought a used headlight assembly off of
ebay (the locals seem to like to total their Sequoias by running them into things, so the local junkyards didn't have anything). Came in yesterday, and doggone if the same <bleep>ing support ain't broken off the
ebay part (couldn't find 'er in the box, so I guess it was shipped that way).
Is this a common failure mode on Sequoias, or am I just having a bad run? Couldn't find a TSB related to the problem.
If this is common, is there a better fix than just replacing the headlight assembly?
I've attached a photo showing the problem area...
