I'm getting a new one put on...costing a small fortune but I had little choice given the time available. Will definitely save my old unit to send in for remanufacturing so I have a spare. Thanks to all for the information.
so are you getting a new skid ecu from toyota? is the dealer gonna install this can you post it if its the same part number as the old one, this unit is so sensitive that if its the same one itll happen again, just hope that toyota reprogram this ecu or they reflash it,

New from Toyota...will see if I can get the part number. I can't believe that the new computer will be as big a problem as my old one was. It had hair-trigger sensitivity.
Hi. Did anyone ever order from the place in Jacksonville, FL? I called them today (they are called Americore Automotive) and their solution sounded reasonable. I have an '02 Sequoia and the Skid Control ECU is out (part number 89541-0c050). New is over $2,000, sending my unit to Americore for them to rebuilt and re-flash about $450. I sure would like to know if anyone has any experience with Americore (positive or otherwise). Thanks!

Let us know what happens. Mine just crapped out in my 03' just shy of 100K. Not looking to pay $1500+ to fix it.

It's been 2 years since my last posting and I hav'nt replaced the ecu of my 99' suv. 2 years ago, I talked to someone at Americore (ecudirect.com) who was suppose to be either in sales or tech support. I asked about the part number discrepancy and warranty and I was not totally convinced with their answer. The part number did not totally match even though they say that it is the correct part. The Toyota dealer here in Tampa basically suggested that I look for a used-working ecu from a junkshop with identical part# rather than a reman. They mentioned that if a wrong or defective ecu is installed and reflashed, other ecu's connected (all interconnected) may get damaged and make matters worse. So, even if Americore replaces the bad VSC/ABS ecu they originally sent thru it's warranty, there is a chance that I may end-up with additional broken ecu's that they will not be responsible for.
