I'm from FL but not that close to Jacksonville - about 6 hours away. The site you provided also is the same with www.ecudirect.com
I am looking to replace my Skid Control ECU for my 2001 Sequoia 4WD(Toyota part # 895410C050). Toyota quoted me about $2K if they order them for me. This site quotes $500 for refurbished. I will call to check if it's the same part. I will give update once available.
I forgot to mention, I did get a quote from a Foreign Auto Parts Store in our area for $300 with a 30 day warranty. BUt he said that it was only for the modulator?? Did'nt know what that means.
hello, great, yes thats the part number for the 01-02 seq, they will also rebuild your old one if you send it out theyll reflash it new program and replace any weak link on the electronics, this is for the whole thing, including the abs/vsc ecu which is piggyback to the modulator where your brake lines are hokked up from the master cylinder/booster, so for arouind 500 bucks hey thats a good deal plus lifetime warranty i think, talked to them see what they said maybe we can have a group buy or give us a discount, since this part seems to fail let us know gerry, pm me your phone number maybe we can talked if you dont mind, thanks

i sent an email today from their website (ecudirect.com) inquiring about the ECU part plus I mentioned about the group discount. i didnt have time to call earlier. i'll let you know when I get a reply. do you know where the abs/vsc ecu is located in the 2001-02 Sequoia?
when you open the hood its located on the passenger side right by the power steerign reservoir you can see it where all tubing coming from the master cylinder, you cant miss it part number is very visible.

I'm in the same boat with everyone. I was told by the Toyota dealer that I needed an ECU 895410C050. Again, the same quote of $2,500 as a start.
Has anyone bought and had installed one of these units from the company out of Jacksonville? I just trying to make sure that this product passes the smell test.

thanks. i looked and saw the ecu but guess what? the part number there is different. i saw part number 89541-0c020. the dealer gave me a part number 89541-0c050. and to add to the confusion, i just talked to a salesperson at ecudirect.com and he pulled up the part number for a 2001 Sequoia 4WD and gave a different part number 89661-0c200.
but this guy mentioned that they will match the numbers right and make sure i get the right ecu. and since it's lifetime warranty, if things don't work, they will try to correct things. but ofcourse, that will add to the inconvenience and cost of installing and uninstalling (i'm thinking of having the dealer install it). he did reiterate that they are not in the business of diagnosing problems with the vehicle but only of the ecu itself.
he also mentioned that their prices are fixed and cannot give any type of discounts. orders take a week and fixes for returns about 2 days (plus shipping time).
Got an update. Just got back from the dealer today where they replaced my oxygen sensor when my check engine light lit up. Talked to the mechanic to clarify some things regarding the skid control ecu. He said the ecu is the black box and the one that needs replacement (while pointing directly at the ecu from another sequoia he was working on). The other stuff piggy backed to it (vsc/abs unit) does not have to be replaced. Also, he warned me that if I will get a used replacement, make sure that it is a toyota part or oem. Other non-oem part may cause other ecu to malfuntion since they are all connected which will bring my cost up considerably. I believe that the ecu's sold at ecudirect.com are non-oem. I will take the safe route and trust this guy and look for an oem part from a used auto parts store or junkshop. It may take awhile but may be well worth the time and $. I have 90K in my odom and definitely not worth getting a new one. Unless I guess I plan to keep it for another 5 years.

Their web site says specifically on the home page:
Each of our remanufactured applications is an OEM unit & not an aftermarket replacement, providing you with premium products that look, feel & operate exactly like the original units they replace.
I'd be in on a group buy of these, if the product's up to snuff. I've been too consumed with selling two pre-marriage houses and buying a new one to work on getting my VSC back in order.
