Exclamation 2006 tire inflation light stays on

2006 limited sequoia - my tire inflation light stays on. Have reset the tire inflation setting. Have taken car to tire shop and all 4 tire pressure were normal within specs of psi. Dont know what else to do. have about 37000 mile on car.

You didn't check the 5th tire!! LOL Everyone makes this mistake...It's the spare tire that is low on air. Top off the spare and the light WILL go out! Johnnnny

Did you check your spare tire, as well? They utilize all five tires for pressure and rotation scheme. Good luck!

The tire pressure sensors do not have a preset pressure range, they only respond to a pressure change from the pressure they were at when the system was reset.
The proper way is to properly inflate your tires to the proper pressure (don't forget the spare!), THEN reset the system as described in the owners manual. If you reset the system (using the button) when any tire is low or high on pressure, you are telling the system that the current pressures are right. The light will go on when there is a substantial change in tire pressure (some say a rise in temp. will also set off the light) So if a tire is low when you reset the system , it will be dangerously low before a light comes on.

I was told that ALL the tires have to be within five six or seven pounds of each other in order to be set. So, if all five tires are at 40psi and you hit the set button it will be set. If any one of the five tires change pressure either higher or lower by five six or seven pounds the light will go on. (I forgot what the exact number is for the light to go on, I think it is one of the three...either five six or seven, not sure witch one) If you try to push the set button when one of the five tires is off by either five six or seven the system WILL NOT set. If you have five tires with lets say 40psi in 3 of them and 42psi in the other 2 and you try to set the system it will set as long there is not more then either five six or seven pounds difference in the five tires.
