1Gen-SequoiaGeneral discussion forum for the first generation 2001 to 2007 Toyota Sequoia.
This is a discussion thread titled "Playing DVD's on Nav. screen", within the 1Gen-Sequoia forum, part of the SUV Forums category.
With the e-brake depressed the dvd's will play through the navigation screen. Is there an easy way to fool the system without the brake indicator light coming on?
No, as soon as it sees movment with the GPS then it cuts it out as I was a ferry and it cut off as soon as we started moveing brake on and in park.

There is always a way you just need to figure it out or find someone who has. I have a newer model Pioneer Nav. and it works the same way. Brake/GPS......But with a small piece of wire and a soldiering gun amazing things can be done. Johnnnnny

i dont know how to do it but i did see a movie playing on my 07 with the e7006 unit . My wife put on a movie in the back when we were trying out the rse and all of a sudden it was playing up front... I have not been able to repeat this...
ALSO... i have tried every suggested way to unlock the 07 e7006 navi ( override) and they do not work... i can only get into some other screen and it does not have an override button...
to get to that screen i had to press menu, display, top left, bottom left, TF,BL and this diagnostic screen pops up...no override anywhere
Click on "map" I believe (it should have a "volume" menu inside it) Click on the "volume" menu. Then tap on the inside of the bars, top left, bottom left, etc. Keep doing that, a diagnostic menu should show up, with an overide button Hope this helps!

I am re-organizing my pictures, please PM me if you find dead pictures and I'll fix it. Also, I don't have many pics in my account here, best place to view my truck is on photobucket: Here is my photobucket account: LINK
Hit the menu button and select volume control. Although there are no buttons on the touch screen, touch the upper left corner, the lower left corner, the upper left corner, and then the lower left corner. A new menu shows up on the screen and then hold down the overide button until it beeps. Then hit the back button in the upper left corner of the screen 2X.
Make sure that a dvd is playing and the back unit is turned on using the remote.
Press the audio button on the unit and you will see the picture button greyed out. While driving, slightly push the emergency brake pedal (not so far as to actually engage the brake) and the picture button will be avaialble for selection. After you push this button you can release the brake. The front DVD should stay on.
I have used this method for over a year and it works every time.
I remember running across a solution for watching a DVD while driving on SiennaClub.org, it's buried in the following link, on P. 13.
SeanY has a schematic there that shows installing a switch which allows Antime CAM/NAV/DVD. Note: I believe this is for a E7006 factory NAV which is same as my '06 Sequoia.
Hit the menu button and select volume control. Although there are no buttons on the touch screen, touch the upper left corner, the lower left corner, the upper left corner, and then the lower left corner. A new menu shows up on the screen and then hold down the overide button until it beeps.
there is no override button on my 07 e7006 after this screen comes up
