Default 2003 Alarm System w/ Engine Immobilizer

The standard equipment list for the 2003 Sequoia Limited states something about an Alarm System with Engine Immobilizer.

Can anyone describe what kind of alarm this is?

    Thanks.

Here is what you get with the 2003 Limited:

    - Vehicile Intrusion Protection (VIP): If someone attempts to break in (unlock the door without a key, open the hood, disconnect/reconnect the battery terminal, etc...) the horn sounds and lights begin to flash. There is an optional glass breakage sensor that complements the system (not standard on any SQ).

    - Engine Immobilizer: A unique code is stored in both the key and the ignition switch. When you put the key in, the codes are compared and a match disables the security lock. If the key fits but the codes do not match, the immobilizer prevents engine start.
