1Gen-TacomaGeneral discussion forum for the 1995 to 2004 Toyota Tacoma.
This is a discussion thread titled "Just picked up a 2004 Crew Cab", within the 1Gen-Tacoma forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Thanks for the info. I'm only 5'9" and about 185lbs. so I should have plenty of leg room. My boy is 2 and my other boy is due in Dec. so I should be good for a few years. I need opinions on trading the '02 Tundra 4x4 access cab V8 for a 4 cylinder TRD Double Cab Tacoma. I really shouldn't have bought the Tundra in the first place. I don't need the V8 or the 4x4 but I thought prices were too high for used Tacomas and the Tundra was immaculate for an '02. I had a 91 Toyota 4x4 reg. cab and loved it.
Just my opinion, but I would look hard at a V6. The 4cyl. are definitely under powered, especially if you are gonna pull or haul anything. The difference in fuel mileage, to me, just doesn't justify sacrificing the power. Just some things to think about.

Do you notice any bed shake on this truck @ speeds from 50-60 mph? I have a 2004 PreRunner 4dr w/ V6 and off road package and have a bed shake issue on the left rear @ 50mph to 60. I don't have Rugged Trail tires on it, but put the spare (which is a Rugged Trail) and the problem seems to still be a problem. Great truck ,but this bed shake thing is annoying. Let me know.
