Default How do I cut off "ONLY" the fuel pump on a 2001 Tacoma SR5 (3400 engine)??

I bought an injector cleaning kit and I need to cut off ONLY the fuel pump and not the injectors to run this kit. Apparently when I pull the relay or the 20A fuse marked "EFI", it cuts off the fuel pump, but it also seems to cut off the injectors...

I traced the fuel lines to the filter and it goes into the tank so I presume the fuel pump is in the fuel tank??

Anyone can provide an access point or a way to disconnect just the fuel pump without having to pull the EFI relay or EFI 20A fuse??

Thanks in advance!!

Hey man, I don't mean to hijack your thread but I've been looking for an injector cleaner also and have had a hard time finding one that's not an arm and a leg! Can you tell me what kind you got and where?
Thank's for any info.

No prob. PM for the details.

As far as shutting of fuel only, I answered my own question. I looked hard enough and there is a connector on the top of the fuel tank I used to disconnect the pump. That's the only way (on my model anyway) you can run the kit.

Well almost right, that will not only cut off the fuel pump, but also the injectors as well. Depending on what your working on,(like cleaning the injectors) the only way to disable the fuel pump alone and not the injectors is to disconnect the fuel pump at the wireing harness on top of the fuel tank. It's a b!tch to get to, but it's the only way.

In line switch to cutoff the fuel pump works too. Also a good theft device!

If You pill the sill plate on the drivers side, under the drivers seat is the reAR harness connecto that will shut the fuel pump off...
