1Gen-TacomaGeneral discussion forum for the 1995 to 2004 Toyota Tacoma.
This is a discussion thread titled "2004 tacoma", within the 1Gen-Tacoma forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
I want to see them put a long bed on these trucks. As well as manual locking hubs, 5-speed manual trannies (w/ the V6),and solid front axles.. I know, I know.. it will never happen.
Ya im knew, but i heard the new taco is going to be based on the new 04 4runner look with the trapazoid fenders which i personally think look like crap, i also heard its going to have an option of v8, i wish knew that ahead of time b4 i got my v6, but i wouldnt want the new 4runner look for the new taco its just plain fugly
When are the 2004 Tacoma's coming out? Is november the month? And why no low APR incentives for Taco's? Like the DC Taco and don't know if to wait until the 04's come out.
Hello Everyone One,
I have a 1995 Tacoma Ext Cab 4x4 SR-5. I bought it new and love it. I was talking to The Toyota Dealer I do vendor work for and, he told me to look for the change in March 2004. I am hope they will put the 6' bed with the 4 Door with the new 4.0 v6 would be real sweet!! I hope they also use the frame now and it does not really matter what the body style is. Toyota rules!!!
I just hope they don't ruin a good thing, which is what the Tacoma is right now. That is an affordable, extremely reliable, small pickup that can wheel with the likes of Jeep right out of the box. Unfortunatly toyota often does screw things up to make its vehicles more idiot proof. This is the case with the numerous electric nannys now standard on many of its vehicles.

Yep, also like the POS new aftermarket looking / bad version of a Chevy SS Special Edition front-end on the new Tundras. God help us if they screw up the new Tacos like that. It's currently one of the best looking trucks on the road and way better looking than a new Tundra.

One can dream, can't they?!?!
Why manual locking hubs though when push button 4WD keeps you from having to get back in and out of the cab, especially in nasty muddy conditions?
