Question 4 Cyl Tacoma

I have my 4x4 Tundra and was thinking about trading my car ( '91 Mercury Topaz ) in or trying to sell it for a 4cyl Taco. What is the best, the 2.4 or 2.7? This would be 2wd, since I already have the Tundra. Any thoughts or places I could go to read about the 4cyl Taco. Just a little around town truck to compliment the big guy.

Thanks,

Hank

You can always check out www.edmunds.com or http://www.autotrader.com and for a pretty fair pricing comparison, therre is always The Kelly Blue Book

My preference between the engines would have to be the 2.7, simply because it is larger, and (I believe) a newer model. I have seen ads for a super charger for a 4 cyl, but I couldn't verify which engine it would fit.

Default 4cyl Taacoma

If you are buying a regular 2WD Tacoma, you will get the 2.4 liter. The 2.7 is available only in PreRunner & 4WD drive models. I just traded my '97 4WD Xtracab Tacoma in on a 2000 Tundra Access Cab 4wd V8 and I thought that the 2.7 was not quite enough engine for steep hills in the heavier 4wd. Hope this helps.

Default Thanks!

Since I already have the V8 Tundra, I will go with the 2wd Tacoma with the 2.4, it will be the "car" in the family. Around town and running errands. Having 2 toyotas would be great!
