After overdrive kicks in, those RPM's sound about right. Are you running stock tire sizes?

Yes..running Stock Tires, Overdrive Is On, Ect Is Off. It Just Seemed Like Hitting Almost 4000rpms Often Seemed A Bit Off Especially After Driving A Ltd 05 Tundra. Thanks For Your Input

Now that I think about it more, that might be a bit over the norm. Are you counting how many times the transmission shifts?

65mph to 70 mph run the motor at 2500 to 2800rpm on my truck. It kinda sounds like your overdrive isnt kickin in.

That sounds alittle too high, i could be crusing 70-75 and my rpms range from 2100-2500. Are you running 33's or 35's with stock gearing? If thats the case your getting more rpms to keep a certain speed...once you add bigger gears your rpms will drop.

i have all stock gears and tires...265/75/16. the tach gets very sensitive when i slightly step on the accelerator. i dont know if its my cluster thats goin haywire or not. i thought the rpms were a little higher...

it started doing that when i took my cluster off to replace a busted bulb on my gas gauge. i never really paid any attention to the rpms before, but i recall not hitting 4000+ rpms by going70-75 mphs... did i f_ck something up here then????? help!!

what should i do now? everything sounds normal, the engine doesn't sound like its stressin at all...

I would think that something in there is a miss. I know it's a pain, but I'd double check the cluster. Making sure you don't have any loose connections or any bare wires touching.
4 grand at 70-75 is high. If you have access to an OBD2 scanner, the kind that you read engine codes with, you can double check the rpm's with it and see if it's your tach or what. You ought to be able to borrow one from a local parts store.
