This is a discussion thread titled "1998 Tacoma X-Cab a good buy?", within the 1Gen-Tacoma forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
I would like some input on whether this is a good buy? I haven't looked at the truck yet but I know it has 177k miles, 2.7L 4-cylinder TRD w/ bedliner and cover. From the pictures the body looks like it's in good shape. Don't know if there are any mechanical problems yet as I haven't contacted the owner.
Also at what price would you guys buy it for? Input will be greatly appreciated, thanks!
A couple of months ago I watched an upper New York State '96 Tacoma regular-cab 4X4 on ebay sell for just over $5000 after a lot of bidding. The body looked ready to rust out. It had a cap and relatively low miles, maybe 100 k.
