1Gen-TacomaGeneral discussion forum for the 1995 to 2004 Toyota Tacoma.
This is a discussion thread titled "Possible solution to bed shake on Tacomas?", within the 1Gen-Tacoma forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Since I bought my 2002 Taco a couple of months ago I've been tormented by vibration from the Dayton Rough Rider A/Ts the dealer slapped on before the sale.
Over the last few hundred miles I have noticed the left-rear vibration was gradually going away. Today the tire was seriously short of air. I blew it back up but the vibration hasn't returned.
Could it be the tire was so stiff and lightly-loaded that it needed a bit of abuse to soften it up, and running it under-inflated did the job?
Sorry about the incorrect model in the previous post. Memory's not as good as it should be.
Until just about 3 weeks ago, I had the exact tire on mine. I had no trouble with them at all. Not sure what would be wrong. If memory serves me, they are 6 ply tires and are not really that stiff. I actually loved mine, they were a good all weather tire.
Maybe running them a little under inflated like you said kinda allowed them to "run in".
