Default 2003 Tacoma; interior leaking into floorpan on drivers side only.

I have an ocasional to regular water leak into the interior drivers side of my Tacoma. The water pools up in the floor pan and I get to sop it up with full size towels. And, then I get the ocasional horn shorting out for a really long burst, until I'm able to pull over and yank out the fuse. When there's no more heavy rain/snow, no problems.

I've seen some posts in reference to the '05 Tacoma having a similar leak with an associated TSB, but nothing for the '03.

Any ideas for a fix? Or, does anyone have an repeated instance?

Did you have yer windshield replaced anytime ago? Could be a lot of different things. Vent. Grommets.

Yer gonna have to have someone help you by looking fer the leak while someone is running the hose. Be methodical...take yer time. See if you can see spot any water drip tracks before you start. You could dust/blow some corn starch underneath yer driver's side and run the water and see where the tracks lead...

There was a revised TSB BO026-00 that addressed leaks in the upper cowl or side cowl seam. It was listed as applicable to 1995.5 - 2004 Tacomas.

This doesn't automatically mean your leak is the same issue, but it's something worth knowing ...

I had a cb antenna running out the grommet behind the drivers side in the rear of the cab and one time the wire got pulled tight and the water would run down the wire and through the grommet into the cab. A little silicone fixed that problem. Nothing like that small and the sloppy feeling of water under your feet through the carpet. I stripped the cab completely and hung the carpet up to dry and then put it all together again and no smell or anything. Good luck on finding the leak.
