Default Installing A/C on 95 Tacoma

I just took my tacoma in for the frame inspection and it pasted with flying colors. The guy I bought it from had what the tech called one of the best undercoat jobs he has ever seen. NO RUST. So I will be keeping the truck for a while. The truck does not have A/C and I would like to get A/C for the summer. Is this possible on tacomas and how difficult is it to do. I have looked around the internet and have not found much info on this subject. Any help would be great.

You might have a hard time finding an OEM A/C kit from a dealer for a 13 yr. old truck. You'll have to inquire..

I say dealer because I learned the hard way years ago there is only one A/C to put in a vehicle and that's the one that comes from the factory.

Every after-market A/C system I've ever dealt with was inefficient and didn't live near as long as factory air.

Just my 2 cents.

It would be a lot of work to get it done, but it's possible.

thanks for the reply. I will go and talk with the dealer tommorrow about it. I figured it would be alot of work. After I find out from the dealer the cost of an A/C unit I will decide if I want to tackle the project.

If your dealership can not get ahold of an A/C kit, PM me
I will need your VIN and Zip code to figure shipping. I am fairley sure I can locate one for you, but need all the vehicle specs.

Did you go ahead with the install? I am in the same situation with a '95 and would like to hear about your experience.
