2000 tacoma water and smell from doors

hey. i have a 2000 tacoma regular cab 4x4. i have a smell coming from my door. you can smell it when you roll the window down. also when i roll the window back up there is sometimes water on the window. i thought that the drains would be clogged so i pulled off the door panel and found that all of the drain holes were open and there wasnt any water or anything inside the door panel. the only thing that even touches the glass is the weatherstripping at the top. the water is only on the outside too. im not really sure whats causing the smell since there is no water build up inside the door. has anyone experienced this?

Are you absolutely sure the smell is coming from the door? When you had the door panel off, did you 'nose around' to see if the smell was inside the door cavity?

Sorry for delayed repsonse. Yes, I have had this problem and now I have it again. It is some kind of mildew that builds up in the exterior door glass fuzzies.
They were special order items at the dealer but it solved the problem. I tried scrubbing the old ones but the smell was still there so not worth it.
Seems to be a problem about every 2-3 years or so.
