Default 2" body lift help

I have a 1997 toyota tacoma 4WD 5 speed with and 3" suspension lift. I was thinking about purchasing a 2" PA body lift to raise my truck a little higher. I was wondering how hard it would be to install the body lift? Also, I've read that some people have had to cut and weld things when installing a body lift. Would I have to do any cutting or welding? I've also read that 4WD, manual transmission vehicles are harder when installing a body lifts. Is this true? PLEASE HELP!!!

Default Re: 2" body lift help

I installed a 3" bodylift on a 96 a few years back. The only thing you need to cut and weld is the shifter lever or shifter levers in your case since mine was an auto. They give you a 3" long extension to weld into the shift levers. I think your better off going with a 3" kit. For one thing the factory rear bumper brackets when turned upside down, raise the rear bumper exactly 3" so it matches the height of the bed perfectly almost like they were designed that way.
