Default 04 Tacoma Brakes Questions

I have a 2004 Tacoma 4X4 Double Cab Limited edition V6 I am looking to replace the brakes on. I have been doing some reading and it appears that Brembo blank rotors and OEM or Hawk pads seem to be the recommended combination.

Question 1: Does anyone have any alternative recommendations for rotors and pads? Where would you buy them online or offline?

Question 2: Does my truck have VSC? (This is being asked when choosing the correct brakes/rotors at some online sites)

Thanks in advance for the assistance!

2004 was the only pre-2005 year in which the VSC/TRAC system was available as an option. It was only available on V6 XtraCab and Double Cab 4X4 / PreRunner models.

If you have the VSC/TRAC system there should be a switch (probably labeled 'Auto LSD', as with the 2005+ Tacomas) on the lower left dash between your steering column and the dash light dimmer knob.

The switch is illustrated in your Owners Manual.

Hawk pads and brembo rotors wouldn't work bad at all together. Do you really need the increase? Standard pads/rotors work pretty well on these trucks unless you're excessively using them.
