Default 2004 Taco pricing

I am looking at a 2004 Tacoma 4x4 double cab. It has 99k miles on it. It is clean and seems to be in perfect shape. They want $14,800 for it. Is that too much? I really want a truck like this but that is a lot of money for a vehicle with almost 100k on it.

I'd recommend going to cars.com and / or AutoTrader, running a search on this particular year / model, and seeing what the 'going rate' is ...

What do you guys think about buying one with 100k on it already. Would it be trouble free for another 50k?

Price seems expensive because its not that old. I wouldn't pay that much for one though.

This is a month later, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy one at 100k. In fact, I bought my 01 Taco with 102k miles. Just make sure the prior maintenance has been done and you should be good to go.

Exactly a year ago this weekend I paid $14,700 for an '02 Double Cab pre runner but it was
2WD not 4WD. Mine had 54,000 miles on it... so I'd say that price is a little steep.

Actually, that's about the right price. Remember that it is a 4x4 and a 2004. I remember in ~2005, I looked at a 2001 DC 4x4 with 100k miles and the dealership was trying to sell it for $18k. The normal price back then was around $17k for a truck like that.

The demand for smaller trucks are still strong, and Tacoma's haven't taken the hit like the 4Runners, Sequioa's, etc. I think the above price that the OP posted is about right.
