I understand that a dirty Idle Air Valve could be the source of the rough idle on my 1997 Tacoma with the 2.7 engine.
Is there any way this valve can be cleaned while on the throttle body?
It's located on the bottom side of the throttle body so outside of removing the throttle body there is no way to get to it (or take it off)
Do these valves require periodic cleaning? My Tacoma has 98,000 miles on it (I am the second or third owner) and I doubt it's ever been removed and / or cleaned.
I am assuming that a simple on the car throttle body cleaning wont get it.
Thanks for any input.
