Default Looking for a way to get brass locknuts off

Of front hubs. I have a bad left front bearing on my 98 Toyota Tacoma, which is a 4 cyl 2.7 liter 4X4. The Chilton book does a rotten job of telling you how to do this, and obviously this is important to get done before the hub comes apart. Required tool and where to get it would also help, as I have been unable to locate. Any and all advice would be helpful, thanks.
