It boils down to a matter of personal taste ...

This type of front spoiler (often called a 'drift bumper' for reasons I've never understood ...) doesn't get a lot of widespread 'love', even among the dedicated Tacoma fans at CustomTacos.

If you've got an XtraCab, you might also consider one of the TRD replica kits.

I do mainly highway driving and wanted to change my truck from off road to street, go nitrous too and make it my street rod. Looks like a body kit is easier than lowering it to make it more aero for cruzing. Only problem is that I still travel through deer country and the kangroo bumper I have make me feel better about surving an incounter.

Second, Ive rear ended a guy, no damage to me, not the same story for him. I think it deserved him right for stopping short in front of me ON THE RAIL ROAD TRACKS, but its my fault. Anyway, he wanted an accident and got one, just I was able to drive away, air bag didnt even go off.

Thanks, I see the kit is not available for ext cabs, is the trd one for ext cabs? I see this forum is rather quiet, is that other forum better?

PS, if you are a dealer with a kit for sale or know someone, let me know. My search for a 97 ext cab kit isnt turning up much at all.

The TRD body kit was designed for XtraCabs (especially the 2001-2004 2WD S-Runners). TRD discontinued the body kit around 2003. Last time I checked, TRD replica kits / parts were available from Extreme Dimensions:

Car and truck body kits & parts for mx3, s10, SUV, civic, neon, focus, etc.

The body kit would be listed for 2001 - 2004 Tacomas. I'm not sure how much (if any ...) major tweaking would be required to fit the components onto a 1995.5-1997 Taco.

The CustomTacos forums have a lot more traffic on pre-2005 Tacomas than TS - not necessarily 'better', but it's fair to say CT is definitely 'more active'.

Thanks for the link. I think it would look really cool with the front bumper from the other link I have with the side skirts from this one.
