Default Got to try 4wd

We got some sleet this morning, so got to drive the tacoma in 2 and 4wd.
In 2 wd it feels like another other car, easy to steer and wants to slowly drift to the left side. Today it would spin and slide. It was real easy to drift with it. THe front stayed put. Maybe its more weight over the front than rear?
In 4wd the truck changes. It is harder to steer, the steering wheel returns to center and it doesnt roll as much when turning. Since the tires are unevenly worn, it binds up in parking lots making tight turns. It does give you a more confident feel in 4wd.
For the most part I drove like I did normall, just being careful stopping and I could tell abs was in full effect. I did get some 4 wheel spinning if I gave it too much gas and on turns, if too fast it did a 4 wheel drift. I just try to think its like a jet ski and instead of doing nothing or jamming the brakes when it goes elsewhere than I want, steer and gas it.
I went to a wendys and put it in 2wd to drive around the parking lot. As I went around the front of the building, the truck contined to and I just let off the gas and straighten it out.
Cant wait to try the xb, but I know both help in everyday driving and the loose gravel where I live, trac and vsc.

all true 4wd's bind on turns on dry pavement in 4WD. in dirt, sand, gravel, snow that binding is released by the slip of the wheels.

Do NOT engage 4WD on dry pavement. It will put unnecessary wear on your drivetrain and potentially cause something to break. I accidentally did that once and my transfer case seal blew up. Thankfully, that's all that happened. Save the 4WD for the dirt or snow.

My manual says to use 4wd when its wet or raining out. I turn it off for parking lot and tight turns. I do a lot of highway travel and use it per the manual. Makes the truck feel better.
