ABS Light On
I have a 99 Tacoma and the ABS light is on. I did the pre-check diagnosis using the FSM and came up with 3 codes (34, 37, 44). I also did the speed sensor signal check and got a code 74(low output voltage of the left rear speed sensor). With these codes I proceeded to check my left rear sensor. I pulled the the terminal and checked the resistance across the the two prongs on the sensor itself. I got a 1.042K ohms on this sensor. The FSM calls for a four prong sensor with a resistance of .9-1.3k ohms. Since the sensor did not match up with the one on the manual I checked the right speed sensor and it measured at 1.062k ohms.
Does anyone know what is the acceptable range. Is 1.042k ohms OK?
I removed the 10mm bolt holding the sensor and tried to remove the sensor but with no luck was not able to pull it out. I want to remove it so I can check if it need cleaning. I am afraid to break the sensor. Any ideas how to remove it?
If the resistance for the sensor is good and I clean the sensor and still have this problem does anyone have any other ideas.
Thanks in advance.
