Default Antifreeze and t stat

My red antifreeze is rather black and so is the over flow tank. I was checking at the dealer and said thats normal for when it needs to change. I have no problems over heating, but it takes a few miles to warm up.

Anyway, dealer said 29 bucks for 1 gallon of red antifreeze and around 76 bucks for the special t stat for my supercharger. Do these prices sound right? Do I need a special t stat? Should it be 160 degrees?

Do I need anything else to flush and refill?

Thanks.

Default Re: Antifreeze and t stat

Great news, the trd t stat for 97 tacoma v6 with supercharger has been discontinued!!!! Or so the dealer told me.

Did you know the manual recommends distilled or demineralized water with the red anti freeze? And at that a mixture ratio greater than 50, but not more then 70% water to antifreeze.
