Default CAI's suggestions?

I got a super charged tacoma truck that I drive on long trips above highway speeds. Needless to say its boosting most of the time and only drop the fuel economy a mpg. It has a kn cai with a cone shape clamp on filter that seems to just go from red to black. I have cleaned it twice, re-oiled it and after a few thousand miles its blacked out again. Right after I clean it, man I get an extra mpg and a bit more umph, then that slowly fades til I boost on the highway as a single passenger unloaded.

I was thinking about getting just another clamp on from advance auto thats no maintanance. You do not need to clean or re-oil it, at least is what the box says. I dont recall the brand, but its like 30 bucks. I had thought about anothe cai kit as well.

Any advice?

Default Re: CAI's suggestions?

FYI, the auto store recommended to just keep cleaning and reusing. Seems a search turns up this filter throwing codes, but no such luck here.
