My '02 D-Cab was recalled and I have already had the work done. It deals with the gas fuel neck that goes from the filler cap to the gas tank. Apparently there is concern that if the truck is hit from the side, a lower portion of the truck bed could cut the filler neck causing a leak. I climbed under it last week after they worked on it and it looks like they installed a length of hard rubber on the edge of a piece of sheet metal just in front of the driver's side rear tire. This section of sheet metal is only a few inches away from the filler neck. It took them less than 20 minutes to do it.

Best Regards

I would say yes. If you have ever been overseas ( I travel all over the world) or even to Canada or Mexico/Central/South America, you will often see models of cars you can not get here or ones that are the same as here but with a little or a lot of different features. I have seen an older version of this same truck and the double-cab tacoma has been out for years in other countries before we ever got it here.

The one on this page looks really nice an may be the new 04 Tacoma or a version of it.

Yeah....those are really nice looking "Sport Riders" (aka Tacoma?) that Toyota sells in Thailand. I like that blue one on the main page. Guess I can't see them being sold here, as Toyota already has the Highlander and 4Runner.
In your travels, would you say that Toyota is the dominant brand when it comes to basic transportation in foreign countries that don't have their own mfr's? Maybe Nissan a close second?

Yes, for the most part, Toyo and Nissan seem to consume a lot of the world's roads as far as I can tell. Ford actually has a lot of compact models not offered in the states I see a lot of and there are a lot of European autos not seen here around the rest of the world. In most parts of Europe, the low & high end European auto rule the roads.

Your points about Ford in Europe are interesting. I've noticed in mags like R&T and M/T that focus on European cars, you'll usually find an article or two about Ford models which are specific to the European market. I think the Contour originated in Europe under a different name. I'm sure there are several other models marketed over there as well.
I stumbled onto an Australian website one night and to my surprise found that Ford sells a car named "Falcon" in Australia.
I remember the Falcon when it was produced here back in the 60s. Does Toyota market any kind of mini truck in Europe or do the Europeans have their own make of truck that is dominant in that market?

...Not up on anything more than what I've noticed over the years.
