Default Check Engine Light P0118

I just got back from a 9 day trip and went to start my 2002 v6 4x4 double cab taco and after several attempts it barley started and I now have a nice check engine light. I ran the code and it says that it is P0118 Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit High Input. My guess is that the computer had some issues with the weak battery and rough starting. Anybody else have any ideas?

If it is the Engine Coolant High Input, has anyone changed one?

Thanks!

Take the negative terminal loose, wait a few minutes, put it back on and then see if the light is still there. Cutting the power will reset the ECU. If the code comes back, you know there is a real problem. Sounds like you may have overheated the engine, and that triggered the code, but I don't know, wasn't there.

turns out a rat decided to chew the wires leading to the overtemp sensor causing it to run to rich, which in turn made it hard to start. Thanks for the help. What a pain in the rear!
