I'm waiting for the redesign of the next generation tacoma DC that I just know will have the 4.0 V6. By then my tundra will be paid off that I can afford it.
I'll still keep my tundra, the tacoma is for my wife.

I bought my 97 brand new in March of 97 just rolled 101K and it runs like a champ (not to mention that i beat the hell out of it) i paid it off in 99 and plan on keeping it for a long long time...
just bought a 03' double cab taco v6 4wd.... i love it.. i used to have a tundra hence the name "BIGTUN" but i think i like my taco better cuz its not as big... i dont have a real need for a big truck...
Traded my 2000 Tundra Limited in on a 2002 Tacoma Double Cab PreRunner TRD last March. Really don't have the need for a large truck and I got tired of all the brake problems with the Tundra. Was in the shop 6 times in less than 30,000 miles for brakes. The Taco serves my needs and so far has been a great truck.
I have a 1989 long bed V6 (one of the first ones, vin number is a bunch of zeros with 960 at the end) that has 220000 miles and no problems at all. I don't think they were called Tacomas then. I bought a 2002 Tundra this July but I still drive the old one more often (kind of like a nice comfortable pair of old shoes you just can't give up) I told my wife I kind of sound like a redneck when I say "I'm going to drive my other truck today.
98' reg. cab. only 60k miles.
But many of those have been very, very hard miles.
So far, replaced rear main seal, cracked exhaust manifold, Cracked muffler,
Idle air control valve, TPS. New springs and shocks all around.
All fixes are because/related to wayyyyy to much time off-road, and will never see the dealer again.
I have a 2001 Tacoma Prerunner, V-6, Xtracab, black, TRD, moonroof (2001 - last year to get a Prerunner with moonroof). About 30k miles on it. Still love it! I work at a Toyota dealer in SoCal and love it. I hope to work for Toyota Headquarters after I get my B.S. degree in Production of Technology. I have an A.S. degree in Automotive and an A.A. degree in Liberal Arts. I am a graduate of T-TEN program. I love talking about Tacomas. If you wanna chat about Taco's or if you know of some Tacoma websites please drop me a line.
I have a 99 PreRunner. Wished I would of gotten the 4X4. Really need it here in Colorado. I will see how the redesigned Taco is before I trade it in or maybe consider a 04 or 05 Tundra!
I also have a '95 Tacoma Reg Cab 2.4L 5 speed with 138,000 miles that hasn't let me down yet.
