Default Should I be worried about trans??

I have an automatic, 4cyl, 4x4. Every once in awhile, I'll be starting from a stop, or even going slow around a corner. When I hit the gas, the engine will go, but its as if the transmission isnt catching immediately. Then it'll catch and my tires will spin a little.

Is my transmission starting to go? How expensive is this going to be?

Default Re: Should I be worried about trans??

My 98 Dodge ram did that , never could figure it out until it started slipping bad one day. Looked under the truck at the Trans linkage , and lo and behold a plastic wafer/grommit type fitting had crumbled and the linkage was loose. It actually kept falling in and out of "D" . Had it replaced and fixed it.

Does your shifter lever seem just a little out of adjustment? That was the clue "I" missed when this happened.
