Default 285 Gearing

Ok this is my first post on Tundra and I'm hoping someone can answer this. I need new tires soon on my truck. Its a '02 Taco Prerunner with SAW 2.0" c/o's up front and Deaver leafs in the back. For tires and wheels I have 265/75R16 on the stock 16" aluminum wheels.
I need to know if I can run 285/75R16 BFG's on the stock wheels. And If I can, will the stock gearing be fine?
I searched on here and couldnt find an answer.

The stock gearing will be just ok. You will feel a loss in power due to the tire size being about 2" higher and about 1" wider than stock. Do you have a 4 cyl or a V6?

If you have a 4cyl, then I would reccomend getting new gears like a 4:56. If you have a V6 then it's up to whether or not to get new gears or not. I would. New gears will help give your power back, correct your speedometer, odometer, and gas mileage.
