Double cab has the bigger cab. Also the 95.5-04 Tacoma were called extra cabs not access cabs.

Access or xtra cab model are 2 door pickups with small seats on the back, double cab is a 4 door pickup with a full seat a the back, good for 2-3 people.

I have a double cab 2003 Prerunner and I can't imagine having an xtracab model, get the doublecab unless it's for work and towing only and there won't be any passengers or maybe just 1.

opps sorry, let me refine this:
Im looking at the years 2000-2005 and I meant the length of the bed, not the length of the cab.

Thanks.

The extra cab and the regular cab come with a 6' bed for the 95.5-04 model tacomas. But if you are also interested in the 2005+ model, then you can actually get a double cab "long bed" which comes with a 6' bed instead of a 5' bed.

The years you specified is a bit too broad cause there were three major changes from 2000-2005. The years for the tacomas differ from 95.5-97, 97-2000, 2001-2004, and 2005-2007.

Double cab Tundra (04'-06') bed length is 6'4"

I believe the access cab bed length is 6'6" but I'm not 100% on that one.
