cold air intake problems/resetting the ECU, please help!!!
so earlier today i decided to put on my cold air intake system on my 2000 tundra 4.7 V8. everything looked fine, all the hoses were connected along with the mass airflow sensor.i left the battery disconnected for about 45 - 60 minutes figuring it would be enough to reset the ECU. well i started her up and it sounded normal and when i let the key back to idle it just shut off. i did it again and same thing. next time while i was starting it i gave it a slight bit of gas and it started up like normal and was idling fine. the only problem now is that the check engine light was on. i checked all the hoses and clamps and there seem to be no vacuum leaks and everything was snug and tight. after all of this i just put back the stock intake and filter back on just like it was before AND THE SAME PROBLEM!!!! so i just went ahead and put back on the cold air intake again and left the battery undone for about 45 - 60 minutes and checked everything and it was doing same thing where it would only start up when i gave it a little gas. does anyone have any tips, helpful information, or no exactly how long i should wait for the ECU to reset its self. also, is there a manual way to reset the ECU? please, please, please help me out! thanks

Put the stock intake back on. Run it for a few days and the Check Engine light should go out. The ECU will "learn" what it is supposed to do from the MAS.
Then, take the aftermarket intake to the nearest river, and throw it away. If you do a little research here on TundraSolutions, you'll see that most people have not had a lot of success with intakes. Toyota engines are so well tuned from the factory, that it is hard to get much more out of them with low cost bolt-on options.
Save your money for a good set of headers and exhaust.

The check engine light may be on for another reason, may just be coincidence you installed an intake. Are you sure everything is plugged in properly? What kind of intake? You may have fouled the MAF if the filter element is too oily.
