    Default Subwoofer for 2004 DC

Hi all. Been debating on what to do about a subwoofer in my Tundra. Ive seen the flat-powered under-seat setups and the rear seat cargo setups, but haven't been sold yet. I cam across this: SuperCrewSound - Toyota Tundra Double Cab 04-06 Console Subwoofer Box and thought it was an interesting solution provided you don't mind giving up the middle seat, although with the right setup you could certainly make this removable without much hassle.

I have the JBL changer and speaker upgrade package and just need that extra bottom end. Thinking about a 300watt amp to go along with a 10".

    Thoughts?

    Thanks!

i went with the jl audio stealth box. it has a 10 inch woofer and can handle 300 watts. it fits inside of the center console. i also went with the 250 class d amp from memphis audio. it fits great in the storage area under the rear seat. i'm happy with the sound and i didnt have to totally mod the vehicle. hope this helps.

2 JL 8's in custom glass box...no space lost. This is all the JBL system needs, unless your trying to win soundoffs.

I agree with the stealth box. i own one in my 01 Tundra. I think it is great. I like it becasue it is centered inside of the truck, so it displaces the sound throughout the truck. Also, it id pointing downward, which helps out the sound. If you are looking for a great setup, I think it is the way to go. The only negative is you lose the center console space.

My understanding of bass is that it's just air and it doesn't matter where you put it in the truck because it's nondirectional. I have thought about oging with the JL Stealth set up but am not ready to give up the storage space.

I really like tundrainorange's set up though. Would be interested to hear more about it........

I did'nt want to spend 3-400 bucks on just abox, let a lone give up my center console space. So I just made my own, 100 bucks in material & alittle bit of time...ok 4 days.

I found out later on that you don't have to cut the plastic either, just put 2 or 3 spacers on top of the box alittle higher than the woofs...oh well live & learn. Mose just pm me if you want further details.

I have wanted to put a sub in my 05 DC but have never had the "extra" cash for it. The one I have been looking at is $250 and you can see it at PTS20-34040 - VSE Subwoofer by Bazooka Mobile Audio for Tundra Double Cab Parts and Accessories
It is made by Bazooka and has the 6.5 Sub and a built in amp and crossover. It doesn't take up any seat space and replaces the compartment under the driver side rear seat. Mind you that this is not a sub setup for someone who wants to rattle their truck and annoy everyone around them at a red light. I would think that it would give your truck a little better sound in the lows and will hook up to the stock radio with a harness.

I have the Bazooka tube and I like it. I was not trying to win any sound off's or anything, just wanted a little bass. I found it here Bazooka VSE-TUN-DC-04 - 100W Powered 6" Subwoofer Enclosure specifically designed for 2004-up Toyota Tundra Extended Cab Pickup Trucks - , Subwoofer Enclosures, Vehicle Specific Enclosures, Toyota Sub Enclosures - Sonic Electronix for $199 plus the $25 for the right cable. Install was simple.

How do you guys with subs getting signal to the amp? Are yapping into the stock system somewhere or are using an after market HU.

I have thought about buying the cable for the Bazzoka Box and trying to figure out what is what. It seems like it should have line level signals and an amp turn on since the bazooka is self powered.
