Default custom speaker box

thinking about buying the custom speaker box from Q-logic for storage compartment under rear seat. Should I go with the 2 8", or one low-pro 10" and build the box myself. here's the link.

depends on the type of music you listen to. You'll get a deeper bass with a 10"

I replaced all my speakers and layered everything with layers and layers of sound deadener.
Speakers used were Phoenix Gold ZR components in the fornt doors and coaxials in the rear doors. I am powering the front components with a 500w 2channel Phoenix Gold amp.
The head unit is the factory 6-disc. It's functional for me and new ones are not yet worthy to replace it, in my opinion.
I've got XStatic wires running all over the place, and the amp is in the rear bench storage compartment. I would do the Q-logic in a heartbeat if/when I get another amp. (and extra cash for the speakers)

i've got the Q logic box with 2 JL 8" W3's, and it's pretty nice. i like a lot of bass so its not totally up to my standards which is why i'm still gonna get the stealthbox for under the center console, but the bass is a really nice and tight sound. good for any music other than rap. hope this helps.

just bought the speakers still need the box, went with 2 MA audio MA800XL competition 800watt 400 RMS, 4.6" mounting dept. it was $188 out the door. very competitive with online prices, and I have them right now. I went to the expo at the fairgrounds, but they didn't have 8's. because of the expo they were on sale at car audio pro's.

I listen to mostly rock, I'm thinking double bass beats will kick *** with 8's 10's would soud good, but would have to go with one, and a low pro at that. I was checking out another thread, and most say the 8's sound good, except for rap/deep bass, which will suck, cause Pink Floyd has some really deep bass lines that kick ***. (shine on you crazy diamond, echos)cant wait to get the box and put my system together,

P.S. the 4 door speakers are 6.5" right, think about going MB Quart with those.

yes, but the diameter is more like 6.75". So if you buy a 6.75" speaker your models are limited to a handful. The biggest problem youll run into is the depth (2.5" at max, w/o mods). Most high quality speakers have depths over what we have available in our trucks, so that's why so many people post up ways to fabricate or shave or MDF some new mounts. It's been researched and trial/error'd enough, it's almost a science.

okay, thanks. i'll keep that in mind. I started just wanting a little bass, now I'm looking at 4 cannel amps componet sets, wo6's for the the backdoors, and in dash DVD's, gonna have to work a few more of my day's off to get all that stuff, but I might as well do this right. Oh and then there's the dynomat....sheeesh.....$$$$$$$
PS. did the PG's work without mod's

No. I had to window track mod, but that added little comfort. In the end they fit. The rears fit with room to spare.
If you're looking at sound deadener, the Sound Deadener Showdown will help you understand the madness behind it all.
I understand your woahs here, I'm still saving for the Q-logic haha.

I installed a JL audio stealthbox with a 10W3 sub. I used a Memphis amp, the MCD250. The box fits in the center console and the bass is great. The amp fits nicely in the storage compartment under the rear seats. And if you are a do it yourselfer the instructions are included for the box.
