I decided to buy a bed box for my truck. I wanted some relatively secure storage in the bed for toting around the gear I always want to have with me. I can only put so much stuff under the seats and in the storage compartments under the jump seats. I'm not a contractor, so I don't need anything real heavy duty. This box is from Lowes and cost $148 plus tax. I also purchased some bed rail "grabbers" that mount to the box, then bolt to the bed rails so I didn't have to drill any holes in the bed rails. The box itself is only 12 inches wide (front to back) yet holds about 5 cubic feet of stuff. I believe they call it their 'slim line' model. I used it recently to hold all our snow gear for a day trip and it worked perfectly! It has a locking lid with two latches. Lifting up on one latch lifts both latches so it's easy to open the lid. The box is easy to remove by unlocking the lid, and removing the 4 hex head bolts that hold it to the bed rail grabbers. So if I need the entire bed for something, no big deal.
To get it to fit, I had to reposition my Hi-Lift jack and remove a tie down loop from the right rear corner of the bed, but other than that, it was pretty easy to install and still gives me some space under the box itself. Total price out the door for the box, grabbers and tax came to $188 and change. All in all, I'm happy with it.

Here is my adventure flying off road into the ditch this afternoon. Picture driving along a straight state hwy with clear roads, snow had just melted, and all of a sudden the back end of my black beauty moves to the center and then the front moves across the yellow line into oncoming traffic. Now on the patch of shadowy ice i attempt to correct my position out of the oncoming traffic lane as I see the headlights of a bulky grey Ridgeline coming straight for me. In a split second i was back in my lane but not all together out of trouble, i now spun around, for a brief second was looking my rear neighbor straight in the eyes without using the rearview mirror. As my back tires crabbed hold of some nice dry pavement, the forward energy of about 45mph was transfered to the sidewalls of the back tires as i spun (here is where it all goes very fast) and flipped (yes, all fours off the ground) into a small shallow ditch. This all, Thank God, without a bodily dent or scratch, just bewildered by hanging upside down in the seatbelt with a broken side window, smashed front windshield and the roof way closer then comfortable. I am very thankful today for a lot of things and wanted to assure you fellow tundranians that the truck did exactly what it was engineered to do; crush.
Question: Does this look totaled to you?
Also, with no collision coverage, is my best option to part it out or sell it as a whole?

Heres a couple updated shots of my truck. I'm in the process of saving for a house. So my mods have just been do it yourself stuff.
Painted the grille, mirror covers, and side mouldings, and removed emblems for now. May eventually put them back on when I decide what color I want them.
I will get some daytime pics soon, I just got done after sun down today.
