Default Re: Toyota Extended Warranty (Platinum Plus)

I have the Platinum Plus... like all options on your rig these ARE negotiable at the table. Yes dropping $1k in a CD would be smart but some people like the fact that they can finance their warranty. Cost you more in the long run but there is something to be said for peace of mind. BTW I paid $900 for my policy at the table AFTER I made the deal on my truck. It was $1200 at first, I knew the going rate was $1k, I told him $900 of he can keep it.... needless to say they took the $900 because the odds that they will pay out $900 are slim.... I am just about to go outside the 36month factory warranty so we will see if it is worth it or not.

It seems that vehicles of all makes and models make it past the 100k mark now a days. It seems common place. I might pony up for a warranty that extends beyond 100k if it was reasonable in cost, but 100k seems like a pretty sure thing.

Heck my Grandpa had a Chrysler K-car that made it to 140k miles!

I included the 6years/100,000 warranty when i purchased my 2006 SR5 3rd row seats. I dont recall how much. Maybe additional $1K.
