1Gen-TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2000 to 2006 Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Looking to purchase", within the 1Gen-Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
i like my trueflow intake, i havent bought headers yet, but the XS Power Inc. headers are alot cheaper than the jba's and people have them with no problems that i know of. I have dual flowmasters but mine are straight out the back and i love them!

- Blackbear 87 octane tune (good for 25hp and its amazing, no more torque management)
- LT headers 14.41 @98mph
A REAL truck.
All a man really needs for happiness in this world is a good woman, a faithful dog, and a big-a$$ed set of tires on his truck.

Dayum! That is cheap! But I'm still a little leery. I'd like to hear more about them first hand.
I had an XS Power header on my 2.5L Sentra. I originally went with DC Sports ceramic header, which was supposed to be a high quality company, but one of the bends cracked within a few months. The XS Power header that replaced it ran 30k miles problem free. And before anyone asks, the only reason I bothered replacing the factory manifold in the first place was because Nissan's genius ingenuity put a catalytic converter within 6 inches of the engine, which was prone to break apart and get sucked back into the engine on every year model of any vehicle they ever put the 2.5L engine into (both Sentras and Altimas).
Should I ever decide to do a complete exhaust on the Tundra, I will definitely go with XS Power again now that I know they make a set.

yeah they are the same. If you look at their contact us link their email is xspower@ssautochrome so that gives it away.

by the looks of it, the xs headers are the same ones as he ss autochromes, because i do recall that company changing their name.
Precisely. I actually happened to buy mine when they were still called SS Autochrome, but apparently they shipped after changing their name because I got the XS header.
So to anyone who's wondering about the quality of the XS headers, find someone who has the SS Autochrome on theirs. They're literally the same thing.

if i were you mudtundra, i think i would go for a lift before screwing around with any engine/performance mods. looks like you actually use your truck off-road.
Most of the exhaust sytems out there are out the rear for the Tundra. I would recommend going with an AFE intake though, I have had no problems with it and I got better gains than with the Volant on my 05. call or pm me if you have any questions about the AFE. Also to let you know that if you find anything you want on my site, use the coupon code Tundra to get a discount for owning a Tundra!
i would stay away from any air intake, unless its a trueflow, only because they are pretty much the same design as a stock intake but just flow better. get a mild to moderate suspension lift and a locker in the rear. you will be set!
i do use my tundra off roading but not untill all my mods are completed im going to add performance mods untill the only thing left to do is lift the truck and put the tires on so i can race around stafford while i make money for my lift im waiting on the new 7 inch lift ive been hearing about.
the plan is to do my intake headers exhaust then bore my engine 40 over and rebuild it the mods are coming slowly lift is going to be the final mod i think.
well in that case, i recomend trueflow intake, flowmasters sound awesome and headers go with the xs power if you like to save $ or if you have money then go with the jba's at about 200 bucks more!

Honestly if it were me and I planned on lifting and bigger tires I would stay away from the intake and the dual exhaust. Once you install the bigger tires you will lose low end torque and these 2 have shown a drop in low end as well, so then you would have a severe drop in low end grunt. My 05 double cab beats my buddies 06 double cab. All he has is dual flowmaster exhaust. I have a flowmaster welded in the stock place with the airbox mod.
Plus when off roading the stock airbox filters better then most of the CA kits.
My 2 cents.
