Aftermarket mirror with thermometer/compass????

I'm curoius if any Tundra owners have a rear view mirror with a thermometer and/ or compass. My friend has one on his Chevy. I'm just curious where I could get one and how much. Thanks.

I just received my auto-dimming rearveiw mirror with compass from Toyota of Dallas (Genuine Toyota Parts and Accessories wholesale to the public.) and I paid about $200. I have seen several posts on this website of people getting the auto-dimming mirror with compass AND temperature for about $120 on ebay. Supposedly the both mirrors are manufactured by the same company. There are a couple of good write-ups with pictures and diagrams for the installation of the mirror on this website. Good luck!

From personal experience I would avoid the (100$ range) Sonex dimming temp/compass mirrors available for a low price on ebay. Their displays are not as easy to read as the Toyota/Gentex factory ones and I had trouble with their dimming display not returning to normal after a following vehicle passed by. I removed it and bought a (150$ range) Gentex/Toyota version on ebay for a little more money that's the same as the factory offering and am very happy with this one. You might find one as suggested in the other post from a Toyota dealer if you shop around. Good Luck.

I had bought a Gentex mirror for my GMC when I had it. Removed it when I sold it and installed in my 06 Tundra. Used the same mount as the GMC and works perfectly in the Tundra. The mirror has the compass and temp.

I got my Gentex mirror used of off ebay. I paid around $100.00. Since ebay links are allowed for a month or so, here's one like mine.

Mine came off a wrecked GM, but it works perfectly. It's a great mod, and I'd do it again in a minute. Gentex mirrors were factory units on some Tundras.

I got one from the same person and you can't tell it wasn't new. Works great, easy to install, harness plugs right in. I got the one with both temp and compass displaying at the same time. These are takeoffs of salvaged vehicles. Gentex is a great mirror.

Hey i have a question about hndymans link and those of you who also bought that type of mirror off ebay. when i opened the link the picture of the mirror appears to have some writting on the mirror part in the lower right corner. Is that just some kinda of image copyright tag or is that the actual brand that comes on it? I almost bought it now but i dont want to be looking at some brand scribed on the mirror it would just annoy me.

It's the sellers mark to discourage another seller from copying his image. It is not on the actual product.

LGL002 is correct. It's not on the mirror, only the photo.

Cool, just bought that mirror off of the link you supplied. I have wanted a temp sensor for a long time now. I think it will give me a little more peace of mind durring the winter, being able to know if theres a greater chance of icy conditions.

I purchased a Gentex auto dimming mirror with compass and temperature on ebay for $120. Came with detailed instructions for a factory look install. Had it for over 5 years and would never get another vehicle without one. Best mod ever.
