1Gen-TundraGeneral discussion forum for the 2000 to 2006 Toyota Tundra.
This is a discussion thread titled "Tires for my 05 Tundra", within the 1Gen-Tundra forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
I have about 30500 miles on my 05 tundra and the tires are getting pretty slick. I would think that these are the factory orignals, I bought the truck used. I would have hope to get better mileage then 30,000 . It's on a straight street truck, 4 dr and no hot dogging (at my age not sure I remember how to ). Anyone recommand a good tire for this truck? looking for comfort, quiet ride and good traction in the rain (can you get all in one tire)
Thanks in advance.

If you want all around performance on/off road check out the Firestone Destination AT (I have these and recommend) or if you want a good offroad looking tire check out the BF Goodrich Allterian T/A KO (My buddy has these and they look sweet on his tacoma, not sure about the ride. I had Dunlop Mud terrrains on mine before switching to the Firestone. See Link Below.

BFGS KOs there isn't a better tire out there! I have 60K on them still look brand new...never had one bad issue, go KO's man, there a little $$$ now but its worth it
Lots of support for the LTX M/S in this thread and others. After asking around and web research confirmed what I have seen here, I will be getting 4 LTX next week. The BFG's that came with my '05 Tundra DC are wearing badly on both inner and outer edges after 18.8k miles. (not the Alignment, not the PSI)
You get what you pay for, I installed the Michelin Cross Terrain SUV and they are quiet, good in snow and rain. They are the newest tire Michelin has. I have had the LTX on another truck great tire but the tread is a little too loud for my liking
I heard good things about the LTX but I could not get past the non agressive looking tread so I got the Firestone Destination which is not aggressive either but I like the sidewall protection ride is quite and comfortable. Don't waste your time with Dunlops!

Tires: Firestone Destination A/T - P265/70R 17
Suspension: Deaver Racing Leaf, B 5100s Front & Rear, Timbren Suspension System Installed.
My local Discount tire guy was pushing the LTX but at over $800 complete, I took a pass. They look like a nice tire but appear to me as they may be a bit loud on the road.

A couple of weeks ago, I got the Bridgestone A/T Revos for my 2005. Seem good so far.
Check them out, they get very high ratings....I have been driving in soggy conditions and no slippage here.
there ok but Bridgestone thread isn't as good on long lasting like michelin is I know a few friends with these tires and they didn't speak too highly on the wear factor..

I am running Revos on my truck too. Best all/terrain tire I have ever had. So far they are wearing very well, 20,000 kms and only 2/32 of tread wear. Highly recommended I have tried the BFG A/Ts and they were not very good for winter use, Revos in my experience offer far better performance in pretty much every area, especially in winter and also quieter on the highway.
