Default To vent or not to vent, that is the question.

I went to buy a locking gas cap at the local parts house and was given an option of a venting or non-venting cap. Which do I need? And they were for '05 Tundras. Their system didn't show anything for '06s but I assume they are the same.

Thanks.

Default Re: To vent or not to vent, that is the question.

I bought a Stant locking gas cap from Pep Boys, about six months ago. I honestly don't remember if it even indicated on the package whether it was vented or not, but it works perfectly on my '06. Logic would suggest to me that because the fuel system is pressurized, you wouldn't want a vented cap...but I really don't know.
If you're not familiar with the name Stant, I'm fairly certain that they have been making locking gas caps (as well as radiator caps) for well over 40 years!
Good luck!
