Question Flowmater 40's a good buy?

I got a 2000 v8 tundra 2wd, want to know if a 40 series with turndowns after the axle and removed resonator is a good idea?? the person doing it said 3 inch pipes he'll prollly use after the muffler. Good idea?? What about side exit??

That oughta work. Single pipes usually exit opposite the side of the gas filler tube ... so yours will likely be on the right of your truck ... but you can tell the guy doing the work to place it anywhere you want. It's gonna drone around 2000 rpm ... the larger the cab, the greater the drone ... the cab is a big echo chamber. I have a 40 on my truck, but I kept the OEM resonator ... it drones at 2000 rpm, but not so bad as to be a problem. Good luck.

Look at FloPro Mufflers. Performance Exhaust

Similar sound as the flowmasters, but a little less crackley, and they are a good bit cheaper. I've had mine for a while now, and still love it.

Mine is single in single out with a 3" pipe after the muffler, turned down just behind the axle. Sounds great and has minimal drone...

Yep, that'll work, but keep it 2-1/4" like stock except for the tip, or 2.5" if that's all they have. Going 3" even after the muffler, you'll lose a bit of low end...this engine is very touchy. If you want 3" at the end, get a good looking tip or ask if they have an expander and can mate the 3" to the 2-1/4".

I'm getting a 40 through Auto Parts Warehouse. What should I expect as far cost to have a shop put it on as opposed to buying it at the shop and having them put it on?

Thanks man sounds reasonable. Should be around a buck and a half for everything. Can't wait.
